Ok, right now I want you to stop and say “Thank you body for breathing – what a fricken’ miracle!!” (Or put it in whatever words you use! 😆) You’re alive and breathing. Think about that for a second. The miracle of being able to breathe. Your body is doing so much just to keep you breathing!
Being grateful for our bodies is so important but how do we show gratitude when we’re used to only showing hate? Well, start by focusing on what your body can DO! We’ve already covered the incredible fact your body is breathing!! Now, go beyond that. Can you run? Dance? Jump? Pick up your kids? Swim? Smile? Sing? Hug a loved one? Speak to a friend? These are things your body is DOING for you every 👏🏻 single 👏🏻 day 👏🏻
Your body is so much more than the things you see wrong with it. Don’t take for granted all your body can DO!
If you are lucky enough to be in a healthy body, you’ve been given an awesome gift! Not everyone is so lucky and that’s why gratitude for our bodies is so important!
Here’s today’s challenge:
Get a piece of paper and a pen and write down all the things your body can DO! Go crazy, make as long of a list as possible. What are the little things you’ve taken for granted? When you think about your thighs, don’t think about their size, think about how they help you to stand and walk – incredible!!
Write down every single bit of gratitude you can muster up for what your body is DOING for you every day.
