If you follow me on Instagram, or get my emails or read my blog, you know I always say…
“If you want things to be different, you have to do something different”
If you want to truly love your body, you have to change some behaviors and patterns you’ve been participating in for a while. It won’t be easy but it will be worth it!
My friends would have a hard time coming up with a time that I’ve put my body down. That’s because I don’t do it. Sure, I have insecurities. I have times when I’m not kind to myself BUT I make it a point to never speak poorly about my body. And guess what? My friends don’t typically speak poorly about their bodies around me as a result. (Also because if they do, I jump in to gently remind them to not speak about their bodies in an unkind manner – having a therapist/coach as a friend has it’s advantages and disadvantages 😆)
One of the easiest things you can do to better your own body image is to stop talking poorly about your body.
So that’s today’s challenge!
Stop putting your body down. Sounds easy, doesn’t it? I hope it is easy but if it’s not, give yourself some grace. Pay attention today as to how many times you put your body down without thinking or how many times you catch yourself wanting to put yourself down but stop yourself before you do.
Was it more or less than you thought it would be? What did it feel like to notice your self defeating thoughts? How did you steer the conversation in different directions? Did you notice others talking poorly about their bodies?
💕 Remember, your thoughts matter and how you speak to yourself matters. It also matters how you speak ABOUT yourself to others.
